Biographie Granite is a light-colored igneous rock with grains large enough to be visible with the unaided eye. It forms from the slow crystallization of magma below Earth's surface. Granite is composed mainly of quartz and feldspar with minor amounts of mica, amphiboles, and other minerals. This mineral composition usually gives granite a red, pink, gray, or white color with dark mineral grains visible throughout the rock.

Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when limestone is subjected to the heat and pressure of metamorphism. It is composed primarily of the mineral calcite (CaCO3) and usually contains other minerals, such as clay minerals, micas, quartz, pyrite, iron oxides, and graphite. Under the conditions of metamorphism, the calcite in the limestone recrystallizes to form a rock that is a mass of interlocking calcite crystals. A related rock, dolomitic marble, is produced when dolostone is subjected to heat and pressure.

Basalt is an extrusive igneous or volcanic rock that has a low silica content, dark in colour, and is very rich in iron and magnesium. Basalt rock is mainly composed of pyroxene, olivine, and plagioclase and is the most common rock on the earth's surface. The texture of basalt rocks is coarsely porous as those holes are left by gas bubbles.

Slate is a fine-grained, foliated metamorphic rock that is created by the alteration of shale or mudstone by low-grade regional metamorphism. It is popular for a wide variety of uses such as roofing, flooring, and flagging because of its durability and attractive appearance. Slate is composed mainly of clay minerals or micas, depending upon the degree of metamorphism to which it has been subjected. The original clay minerals in shale alter to micas with increasing levels of heat and pressure. Slate can also contain abundant quartz and small amounts of feldspar, calcite, pyrite, hematite, and other minerals.

Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of sand-size grains of mineral, rock, or organic material. It also contains a cementing material that binds the sand grains together and may contain a matrix of silt- or clay-size particles that occupy the spaces between the sand grains. Sandstone is one of the most common types of sedimentary rock, and it is found in sedimentary basins throughout the world. Deposits of sand that eventually form sandstone are delivered to the basin by rivers, but may also be delivered by the action of waves or wind. Some sand grains might be organic particles, such as sand and shell debris produced within the basin. If the sandstone is durable, it might be used to make crushed stone for construction projects. If it has a very high quartz content, it might be crushed and used as a source of silica for glass manufacturing. Layers of sandstone below Earth's surface can serve as aquifers for groundwater or as a reservoir for oil and natural gas.

Travertine is a type of limestone formed millions of years ago from hot springs. Although, while it is formed, hot mineral spring water filtered through the stone creating the holes and voids that give it its distinct texture. Commonly, travertine is popularly identified by its light coloured beige to white texture. However, the colour variations can range from white, grey, silver and brown and cream hues.

Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed largely of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It is formed by the accumulation of shells and skeletons of marine animals on the ocean floor. This process began millions of years ago at a time when the surface area and volume of the oceans were much larger. Limestone can be found in canyons and cliffs where large bodies of water have receded, revealing the layered rockface. It is the most common stone surrounding the Mediterranean basin in France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Israel, and Egypt. Limestone is generally recognizable by the presence of fossils and is available in a variety of neutral colors. These range from cream, beige, and gold to grey, blue, and black.

Quartz is a chemical compound consisting of one part silicon and two parts oxygen. It is silicon dioxide (SiO2). It is the most abundant mineral found at Earth's surface, and its unique properties make it one of the most useful natural substances. Quartz is the most abundant and widely distributed mineral found at Earth's surface. It is present and plentiful in all parts of the world. It forms at all temperatures. It is abundant in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. It is highly resistant to both mechanical and chemical weathering. This durability makes it the dominant mineral of mountaintops and the primary constituent of beach, river, and desert sand. Quartz is ubiquitous, plentiful and durable. Minable deposits are found throughout the world.

Kerbstone is a type of street divider. A kerb is a vertical or sloping member installed along the edge of a pavement or shoulder to provide strength and protection to the pavement's edge. A kerbstone was initially originated from guard stones. They were usually built with protruding metal, concrete, or stone as an architectural element found at the intersection or foot of the road and sidewalks. It is a constructed and solid material that fixes end to end with other solids and creates a kerb.

Cobblestone, the cracked product of mined stone, is one of the most common blocks in Minecraft. It's found either by mining ordinary stone or in dungeons that have been generated by the game, along with mossy cobblestone. It can also be found in strongholds, villages, and jungle temples. Cobblestone doesn't have physics applied to it, so it makes a very good construction material.
